Journaling
Sometimes we call them diaries, sometimes we call them notebooks, other times, we don't really call them anything. Whatever word we assign to the method we use to put our thoughts on paper, it's an important part of self-care. Dotted journals (also known as bullet journals), in particular, give a person the freedom to turn pages into whatever we need them to be!
Over the years, I have used my dotted journals as a:
- Calendar
- Health Tracker
- Progress Monitor
- Diary
- D&D log (good players take notes!)
Journaling does not have to limit itself to paper and pen or pencil. There are also e-notebooks and other tools one can use to put their thoughts into words. When it comes to making lists and notes on the go, Google Keep is my chosen format.
Whatever method you use to get your thoughts out, remember that it is an important part of self-care. Writing allows us to process feelings and provides a record to help us look back on the past and see how far we've come.
